BAY RIDGE – Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn welcomed families to the John Lockwood Auditorium Theatre for a very special ceremony on Thursday, January 31st, 2019 honoring members of Adelphi’s Junior Class. The Annual Junior Ring Ceremony served as an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2020 heretofore and to look ahead to the opportunities that await each student in the future.

Of course, the highlight of the evening was the presentation of each student’s exclusive, one-of-a-kind Class of 2020 ring! One by one, the proud Adelphians were called to receive their ring from Head of School Ms. Iphigenia Romanos and a member of Adelphi’s Class of 2019. Then, at Ms. Romanos’ instruction, they turned their rings to the right three times — once for health, once for wealth and once for happiness!

The evening’s program also included a special performance by Theater Arts Program member Josh, who sang “Lean on Me” with musical accompaniment by Adelphi’s Director of Academy Operations Mr. Albert C. Corhan on acoustic guitar and Musical Director Mr. Robert Bates on keyboards. Then members of the Class of 2019 and Class of 2020 joined together for a very special performance of “One Moment in Time,” which served as a tribute to their families and faculty members who have supported them throughout their academic journey at Adelphi.

Class of 2020 member Andre delivered poignant remarks as the evening’s featured speaker. His address touched upon all he has learned at Adelphi and how receiving one’s school ring serves as a symbol of greatness attained and still to come.

Following the presentation of certificates to commemorate the evening, students and families were treated to a reception featuring coffee and a custom Adelphi Academy cake!

Ms. Romanos said, “The Annual Junior Ring Ceremony is a wonderful tradition here at Adelphi Academy. It allows members of the Junior Class to reflect upon all that they have accomplished to earn their class ring, but also to look ahead with excitement to their senior year and all the opportunities to achieve great things that will surely come their way.”
