BAY RIDGE – Aspiring leading men and ladies auditioned to be a part of Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn’s upcoming Winter 2020 production, “The Adelphian Masquers’ 5 Year Anniversary Show!” Veterans of the Adelphi stage joined new members of Adelphi’s Theater Arts Program inside the John Lockwood Auditorium Theatre on Monday, September 16th, 2019, where they showcased their individual acting and singing abilities for Theater Arts Director Ms. Nikki Fregara, Musical Director Mr. Robert Bates and Show Producer Mr. Albert C. Corhan.

The anniversary show will serve as a tribute to the Theater Arts Program, which began its resurgence in earnest five years ago with a full-scale production of “Little Shop of Horrors.” The upcoming show’s original script will blend together highlights from “Little Shop” as well as all other theatrical and musical productions from the past five years.

Adelphi’s Head of School Ms. Iphigenia Romanos said she is excited to revisit some of her favorite moments from the past five years. “The anniversary show concept in and of itself is exciting because it allows members of Adelphi’s Theater Arts Program to celebrate all that the program has accomplished during the past five years, while bringing new life to some of the Academy’s favorite characters in front of a new audience,” she explained. “In some instances, returning members of the program might even be given the chance to reprise their particular roles from other productions, adding to the wonderful memories they made when portraying those characters the first time.”

Middle and Upper Schoolers signed up for the chance to shine on the Adelphi stage.
