Many artists put their fashion sense in the spotlight, which makes a significant impact on how their followers and fans dress. Music stars often boast a unique style and stand out in the public eye. Stars like Billie Eilish, Kanye West, Travis Scott and numerous other artists have influenced millions of fans. They all express them- selves differently and many of the best known artists have a “signature look.” Whether it is wearing something unusual to the human eye or having a particular type of shirt that starts a trend, their fans connect with these looks and try to imitate them to show their support and feel trendy. Most artists today have their own mer- chandise or clothing line that they design. Most of them incorporate their style into the merch that they create. Kanye West has his well-known sneaker brand called Yeezy, which is an ADIDAS sneaker. His Yeezys have a strong influence on the streetwear style that is popular today. Yeezys come in various types and prices. Some of the most popular ones in 2020 are the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Black (Non-Reflective), the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Cloud White (Non-Reflective) and the Yeezy 700 Wave Runner. Tyler, the Creator is another rapper with his own clothing and accessory line called Golf Wang. Tyler creates clothing and sneakers with very vibrant colors and plain logos. The Golf le Fleur Converse sneaker is very popular among his follow- ers, especially from ages 14 to 30. Tyler created this brand because he doesn’t care about what people think of him and his style. Social media is a great way to connect with friends, see what is new in the world of celebrities, discover new trends, or just stay connected with the world around you. Social media apps are used for posting memories with family and friends, danc- ing, singing, acting, sharing opinions, and much more! Overall, it offers a way to express yourself and show the world who you truly are. Some major social media apps today are Instagram, Snapchat and the biggest one of all, TikTok! A lot of stars use these apps as a platform to create content for their fans. These people are known as crea- tors or influencers. For example, Charli D’Amelio has become the biggest TikTok star today by showing off her amazing dance moves, as well as new projects she is working on for fans, the people she sur- rounds herself with and her overall life- style! Another example of a big social me- dia star is Kylie Jenner. She posts her line of skin care all over her platforms, as well as her child, her luxury lifestyle and everything going on in her life. These famous people also make their money from brand deals, sponsorships and just posting on certain social media sites. This is a job for many of them and they rely on these apps for income. Mil- lions of people use these apps worldwide for entertainment and as a means to es- cape. The stars who are born on these platforms create content they think eve- ryday people will want to see and when they develop a following, the money starts to roll in, Whether being used for entertainment or for income, there is no doubt that social media plays an impor- tant and growing role in society and is here to stay.
