Talented artists Luana and Erika — both members of Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn’s graduating Class of 2021 — each spent their senior year creating unique works of art that will benefit the Academy for years to come. Erika was tasked with creating a full Adel- phi art collection composed of her original pieces highlighting the Academy, while Luana put her graphic design skills on dis- play by creating digital versions of Adelphi’s four House crests. The crests were originally designed by hand by members of each House — Ellinwood, Levermore, Lockwood and Morrill — and feature iconic images like books, trophies, doors and Academy logos. Luana was able to turn these hand-drawn posters into high-resolution digital works of art that can be used to create banners and other printed materials for Adelphi. Erika’s project is ongoing throughout the summer, ensuring that her relationship with Adelphi will continue to thrive. At press time, she had created several incredi- ble depictions of the Academy from vari- ous periods of time, as well as hand-drawn portraits of Adelphi’s earliest leaders.
