Siblings Isaac and Svetlana show off their uniquely mismatched outfits! By: Isabella Matone, Grade 10 “Excuse me, I think your shirt is on backwards. And your socks don’t match!” On April 24th, Adelphi Academy stu- dents and faculty members took part in a virtual Spirit Day — the always popular Mismatch Day! Students reported for class online wearing backwards sweatshirts, two different shirts layered together, mixed patterns and outfits that had different tops and bottoms! Some even wore two different hair- styles together. Ms. Fregara, for instance, wore one side straight down and the other as a single pigtail. Everyone was very creative and showed school spirit. Upper Schooler Isaac had a clever idea and turned his hoodie around so his hood would be facing him. Mismatch Day was important because it kept everyone connected and allowed us to show our school pride and unity. This Spirit Day was definitely one to remem- ber! Adelphians Experience Life on the Oregon Trail By: Ariel Burshteyn, Grade 11 Can you survive the journey? Students in Mr. DeCrescenzo’s class have been playing “The Oregon Trail” together during homeroom, bringing his- tory to life online! “The Oregon Trail” is a computer game that portrays the different scenarios that people moving west in the 1800s had to endure. It starts off with a choice of four charac- ters, each with a different occupation. Once you’ve selected and named your characters, you have to buy supplies with the money you have. When you are on the trail, there are several choices that you have to make that can either help or hurt your group. Whoever survives the difficult trip to Oregon wins the game, and the class has been working together to make sure every- one arrives safely. This game is a great way to spend time educating yourself and having fun online. School Spirit on Display on Mismatch Day! Ms. Fregara let her hair down — well, part of it anyway — on Mismatch Day! Adelphi parents and family members joined the fun on Mismatch Day! See more photos online at www.Adelphi.org!
